SLJ Week 2 day - Crossing Tazmen

14 hours felt like forever
Wind blowing hard Ice falling
A block of ice fell on the plane
When the radio stop working, I got worried
I calmed my self and closed my eyes
when I opened them I found out that we had landed safely in Christchurch
Joy on my face and I applause the pilot.

  1. Hey Alex!

Great job with your poem! It was surely a tough ride for all the crew involved. I think it's crazy that it took 14 hours then, and now it only takes around 3-4 hours to travel on a plane to Australia. Things have definitely changed since the 1900's!

I'm not sure how I would cope with wind blowing and ice falling on the plane - sounds a little frightening! You did well to close your eyes and calm yourself down before reaching Christchurch, I probably would have been too worried!

Have you been on a plane before? I remember doing two 11 hour flights at once with only 3 hours between them - it's very long and uncomfortable but a cool experience, especially when you reach your destination.

    Nicky :)
