Today in Mrs Tofa's class we had science intensive. We learnt about water pollution. I learnt that the most rubbish is in the pacific ocean. This is because lots of our rubbish goes down the drain, which can injure and kill sea life as well as damaging their habitats.
This blog is a record of my learning from Glenbrae School in Auckland, NZ through to Tamaki College.

Air Pollution
We went on a field trip around the playground and used a clean paper towel to wipe objects and surfaces. This is what we found dirt and black stuff from cars. Air pollution affects us even though we can't always see it.

Bird Feeders
Today in room 8 we all made bird feeders out of recycled products. This was part of our lesson on Wastewise. We were learning how to reuse reduce and recycle. We are helping the environment instead of harming it by making these bird feeders. When the birds are finished we will put all of the materials in the recycling bins at school.
Recycle
In class we have been learning about waste wise. I made this poster to show what to put in the right bin. If you put recycling stuff in the rubbish bin it will become rubbish when it gets to the dump. This will remind us not to contaminate our recycling and to put things in the right bins.
