    1. Hi Alex (and Anita),
I think also think you have picked some really interesting places to show your visitors what New Zealand has to offer. What made you choose these places? Perhaps next time you could include this in your blog like Anita said.

I can't believe you are at day 17 now- you are doing so well!

    3. Hi Alex, Anita and Ms Stone,

I think that the suggestion to add more information is a great one and, Alex, I love the way that you acknowledged the advice, took it on board and pledged to make a change in your next blog. That is a very mature response. Way to go!

      Cheers,
      Rachel

  2. Kia ora Alex, Anita and Ms Stone,

Wow - Day #17. That is a huge accomplishment. Way to go!!

I think that you've chosen three very good places to take your visitors when they come to New Zealand. The mud pools in Rotorua are pretty amazing to see. I love watching the steam rise off of them as they gurgle and bubble away. I still remember the first time that I visited Rotorua and saw the mud pools. I was 16 years old and I was visiting New Zealand with my family. We were living in Canada at the time and we'd never heard of anything like Rotorua so we drove down from Auckland to stay in the city. It was a really fun road trip but when we go to Rotorua we were amazed by the strong smell that came from the mud pools. They smelled like rotten eggs. Ewwww, yuck! We had no idea that there was sulphur in the mud pools, a mineral that smells like rotten eggs. We certainly learned our lesson!

I hope that you have the chance to get down to see the mud pools one day. Hopefully they won't be smelly when you go!

Cheers, Alex. Keep up the fabulous work!

    Rachel :)

    1. Hi Rachel,

My family used to live in MT.Maunganui, so I got many chances to visit Rotorua.

    2. Hi Alex,

You are so lucky! I didn't realise that you used to live in Mt Maunganui. That is very cool! When did you move to Auckland?

      Cheers, Rachel

    3. Woah! Your family used to live at the Mount too!? Me too! I lived there for about 3 years around your age! I loved it. I learned to surf there!

So cool to meet another Mount kid.

  3. Kia ora Alex!

I know I already commented, but I want to share my 3 places with you. I really loved your ones, so don't feel like you have to change yours. The best thing about NZ is that it is so big and there is so much to see. It really is hard to make a list. Maybe you could look up a couple pictures and see them for yourself.

    1. Omapere. I hadn't been up the Northern West Coast of NZ till just last week when I went up there for my best mates birthday. But honestly, it is just gorgeous. I had no idea. Fun wharf to jump off too.

    2. Waiheke Island. Waiheke is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country because of it's beautiful beaches, massive selection of wineries, and close proximity to Auckland. If you get a chance, suggest "Wild on Waiheke" which has lovely food and wine, but also lots of activities including archery - since you can't drink wine yet haha!

    3. Wellington. Not only is it steeped in our nations history and politics, it is a truly beautiful city, with a vibrant waterfront, rich film scene, Te Papa museum and many art galleries, and unique shopping and food opportunities. It is also close to a nice little surf beach and exciting 4WD adventures.
