If I went to Waitangi as a visitor the three thing I would do is.

1. Explore the treaty grounds

2. Go to the Waitangi museum and see the treaty

3. and my last thing I would do is to see the Marae

  3. Hi Alex,

Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

Great work with this activity. Those are all great ideas for things you could do in Waitangi. What one would you like to do the most?

I've been to Waitangi a few times and I always enjoy walking around the grounds and learning more about Aotearoa's history. Once I was there on Waitangi Day and when they did the 21 gun salute, I got such a big fright! It was very loud. What does a 21 gun salute symbolise, I wonder?

I look forward to reading more of your blog.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.

    1. Hi Ruby

The one that I would like to do the most is go to the Marae and see all the patterns and also know the history of the tribe.

I think 21 gun salute is an honour towards the ceremony.

      Cheers
      Alex
