Australia Day Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 16
On Australia day there are a lot of people from all over the world come and celebrate this national day. It is on the 26th of January. The things I would go to see are street parades and concert. I would also play with fire crackers because its really fun to play with. I would also eat lamb chops and chips because I really like these foods in New Zealand especially BBQ and eating it with family.

Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of Australia Day. The food sounds delicious and the entertainment and events sound really fun. I love going to street parades! Have you ever been in a street parade? My sister and I were in a parade when we were younger as part of a Christmas celebration in our town. We had a blast! We had to dress up as elves and hand out candy canes. It was about 20 years ago but I still remember it!
It's pretty amazing what sticks in your mind, isn't it? Do you have many special memories from when you were younger? What is the earliest memory that you have? I can remember being about 4 years old and playing with my sister but I can't remember anything before that...
Keep up the great work, Alex! It's so nice to see that your blogs are being read by people from your school, by our blogging team and by students from other schools. It's pretty cool!
Cheers,
Rachel :)
Hi Rachel,

2 years ago I attended 2 parades. 1 was ANZAC day parade and other was Santa parade. Really had lot of fun and memories.

Hi Alex,
DeleteYou're so right. It really is a lot of fun! Great to hear that you've been able to go to street parades already. I hope that you'll be able to get to the ANZAC parade this year as well.
Cheers!
Rachel
Hi Alex!
DeleteYou sound like you're really into street parades! I enjoy them too. I really enjoyed this blog and hope you get to visit Australia one day.
The countries which have the most interesting street parades for me have been Japan and Vietnam. Japan has all kinds of local festivals which start with a parade and then get into a market, and Vietnam often has military parades which are very exciting because all of the people turn out to watch them.
There are a few parades in South America which seem like fun too.
Keep up the great work!
Mark
