If my teacher ask me to tell the class about my trip, I would say the things that I have learnt from my travel is how the Australian people celebrate their national day. I also learnt about music and arts. I went to the zoo and I had a elephant ride. I took a picture with a python. I feed giraffes and I also learned about the great barrier reef. I made videos about my summer activities I interviewed my brother. I learned about the big landscapes in Australia. I also made my own national holiday. I learned three interesting facts about Hillary Clinton. I watched Australian shows. I also learned about Richie Macaw and much more. I learned what Australian people eat for breakfast. summer learning journey was a great holiday activity. I learned lots from this program especially about Australia and this program kept me entertained throughout the holidays. I wish this program carry on for a long time.

The vehicle that I like is the one wheel scooter. Because it looks so cool. It is self balanced and very convenient to handle. It runs up to 16 km/hr.

Let’s imagine that the neighbouring town was about 30 kilometres away. There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. You have four options for this trip. You can take a:

1. Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
2. Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
3. Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
4. Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)

I would choose bicycle, because this is the cheapest option. Also there are unlimited number of stops to have photos of the scenic views. There are some hills along the away, could be good exercise and I feel that bike riding is more fun.

I think that the government should do to save the Kakapos, find them a new home. Because there a lot of predators near them like dogs, cats, weasels, possums and rats. Another thing I think we should do is get ride of the predators that harm the kakapos.

This bird is a Kakapo. Also called owl parrot. This bird lives in forests, shrubland and tussock grassland. They are herbivorous. They eat seeds, plants, fruits, pollen etc.


This bird is a kiwi. They live in scrubs and rough farmland. They eat seeds, grubs and many varieties of worms. They also eat small crayfish, eels and amphibians.
   

Going To The Zoo Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 18

I had just entered the zoo when, all of a sudden, I saw people riding elephants. I was so excited because I was not expecting such kind of things.

I also wanted to have a elephant ride. So, I had a elephant ride and it was really fun. I also saw people feeding giraffes and some people having photo with pythons around their neck.

It was really an amazing and a great day. I wish, if I could come again.   

Te Oro Summer Learning Joureny Week 4 day 17

This building is a culture and arts centre in 

Glen Innes, Auckland. Its name is Te Oro and the local young people from community visit there for different kind of culture and arts programmes.

I would most like to visit in Australia is the Great Barrier Reef because the reef can be seen from  outer space which I think is cool. It is located  off the cost of Queensland, Australia. It was made by living organisms and each year more than 1.5 million visitors come to experience the reef by snorkelling or diving. l also love snorkelling.

Waitangi Day is a public holiday in New Zealand. It is a special day for Maori people because they signed treaty with British government in 1840. All New Zealanders enjoy this day in different ways. I enjoy this day with my family. We do BBQ and party. My uncles and aunties visit us. I play with my cousins and my brothers. 

Shape Day Summer Learning Journey Week 4 day 16

 Shape Day.

It is a public holiday and everyone wears shape costumes and have parties. The special food for this day is turkey with rice, potatoes and salad and for dessert is shape cookies and chocolate pudding. There are also street parades. People dressed up like shapes. There are also lot of concerts held around the country. People has been celebrating this day since 1900 on 28th March because that time the king of the country made his own shapes.


        

Australia Day Summer Learning Journey Week 4 Day 16

On Australia day there are a lot of people from all over the world come and celebrate this national day. It is on the 26th of January. The things I would go to see are street parades and concert. I would also play with fire crackers because its really fun to play with. I would also eat lamb chops and chips because I really like these foods in New Zealand especially BBQ and eating it with family.

If I went to school 100 years ago and left at the age of 12 yrs. How would I feel?

I would feel unhappy but if I went to school and also part time work would be OK. As I feel 12 yrs of age is too young to work. People should start working at the age of 20 years old.
