SLJ Week 3 day 1 Activity 1 - Meat and three Veg

It was common for women in the 1950s to stay home with their children and raise their family. They were called ‘housewives.’ Many housewives followed a simple rule when they prepared the evening meal: the ‘meat and three veg’ rule. This meant that they prepared dinners that included three different vegetables and a type of meat (eg. beef, lamb, or chicken).

I think that the Meat and three veg is a bad rule because this is very boring if eat the same everyday . I don't like this rule as these days different variety of food available and I also would not enjoy eating much vegetables.

SLJ Week 2 day 5 - Making a Statment

Image result for kids
In late 1940s people were wearing very formal clothes whereas today in 2018 I wear casual clothes like shorts and a T-shirt or jeans and a jacket which are quite different from that time. Some people still wear formal clothes but I would prefer to ware casual clothes because I would not feel comfortable in wearing a formal clothes. 65 years from now I think that people would be wearing more fashionable clothes.

SLJ Week 2 day 5 - Coming to the End

If I was alive in 1945 and I had the opportunity to organise a Victory of Europe party. I would invite all my family members and friends. I would put on a karaoke for them and make it singing and dance party. Also play volley at the backyard.  Have some drinks and nice roast meat with potato salad. We would play Water fun games and really enjoy the victory.

SLJ Week 2 day 4 Bonus - Woman at Work

One day I was walking along the deck of the ship when I heard a loud bang. I started to run as I saw smoke coming from the far end of the ship. I ran towards the room where my patients were waiting to receive treatment from the doctor. Just as I arrived at the door to their room I heard another loud bang and I got really very scared. I was panicking. I was screaming for help. I saw all the doctors and Nurses running towards the same room to help. With the help of other nurses and doctors we calmed the patients and put them one by one on stretchers and took them to the safe place. After that we heard captain announcement to leave the ship immediately as whole ship was on fire. At last I really thankful to all my colleagues who struggled hard to save all patients.

SLJ Week 2 day - Crossing Tazmen

14 hours felt like forever
Wind blowing hard Ice falling
A block of ice fell on the plane
When the radio stop working, I got worried
I calmed my self and closed my eyes
when I opened them I found out that we had landed safely in Christchurch
Joy on my face and I applause the pilot.

SLJ week 2 day 2 Activity 2 - Art Deco

I would rate this painting 5 stars because I like the colours those had been used by artist and I also like how the painting looks realistic. An amazing work.

SLJ Week 2 day 2 - The Roarings 20s

I think the movie Gold rush is about Charlie Chaplin and a man called the Adventurer go up to a mountain and find gold. The movie is funny and adventures but I don't enjoy these kind of movies because it is silent and also I don't like movies in black and white. Back in the days this movie was popular and funny but in the modern time it is not that funny and exciting.

SLJ Week 2 day 1 Bonus - Fladers Fields

A poem was created for those New Zealanders who gave their lives for our country. It was created by John MCcrae and it is called Flanders Fields. This poem made me feel sad because the soldiers had to leave their love ones behind. I also feel sad for those parents who lost their children in the war but I feel proud to be New Zealander.

SLJ week 2 day 1 Activity 2 - The right to vote

Women weren't allowed to vote in Saudi Arabia until 2015 that is fact and that was not fair. I think that everybody should be allowed to vote because when men have all the privileges and why women can't say anything about how they feel.
